Two days trip to the most breathtaking view (only 60miles from Medan)

By Evelyn Ye - June 10, 2017

View from : Bukit Gajah Bobok
Tongging, Merek, Tongging, Merek, Kabupaten Karo, Sumatera Utara 22173

I went to Gajah Bobok Hill with my brothers and sisters in Christ. It is a new camping place near Simalem Resort. I was hoping to go there with a huge bus, but unfortunately we ended up going to the hill with 3 mini buses due to the narrow road that we had to go through to reach our destination. We departed at 11ish and it took us 5-6 hours (we stopped once for toilet and waited for other bus) to reach the bottom of the hill.

As someone who was inexperienced in hiking, this was really a challenging experience for me that I could barely breath during the hike (well I'm still alive tho). I was so tired and I was bit dizzy, so the tour guard asked me to rest for a while and I made my boyfriend stopped because of me. It took me around 30minutes to reach the top, but if you could just walked normally without stopping, you only needed around 15minutes to reach the top. I asked him to take a picture of me while I was resting :b

After a short break, we continue to hike to the top. And by the time we reached the top we was already too late for the sunset *sigh*
Once everyone had reached the top, our tents had been well prepared by WTFAdventure 's crews. You can definitely see Lake Toba - the largest volcanic lake in the world - from the top. We took some pictures before the sunlight off.

Instead of enjoying the bonfire party, we rushed to take a lot of pictures, capturing the silhouettes, milkyway, and ofcourse, the so-called pre-wedding photoshoot of me and my beloved one. :3 It was not easy to capture milkyway and the object at the same time. It needed good technique and timing. And a great patient to wait for the fog to disappear.

The view was so breathtaking that I barely blinked. If you guys are coming to Medan and plan to hike and have a photoshoot session in the nature, this is definitely the right place to visit and to experience yourself one of His creation.

The next morning, we were going even higher to enjoy and take pictures of sunrise.

Moving on! We were going to Sipisopiso Waterfall and we took shortcut road that made us going in without paying opss..

Half of our team went down to the waterfall. We went down to through the 1800 slippery stairs under the waterfall to refresh ourselves

Aaand the challenge begin.. the challenging part was when you wanted to go to the top again. It was extremely exhausting as if your soul was about to come out from your body and I wish a helicopter would miraculously  pop out and fetch me up (I kept on saying that all the way up). But don't worry, there are several small shop where you can take a rest for a while and it is worth it :)

That's my short escape, I'm looking forward to another adventure like this, but for now, I kinda need a break from this lol

See you in another post!! <3
